About the Archive

The Liberties Archive was founded by a fashion history enthusiast in Dublin 8. Throughout its long history, Dublin has been a hot spot for textiles and fashion, though its former status as the fashion capital of Ireland is sometimes overlooked. Our mission is to research, preserve, and bring knowledge of this history to a wider audience.

While our research is focused on Dublin-based shops and designers, we will also be curating articles on fashion and textile history from all over Ireland.

Collections

Our small but growing collection is focused on both paper and textile ephemera relating to Irish fashion history. We are aiming to publish photos of our collection to the website as soon as possible.
